Dance Sail

Join the beautiful sailing ship HAWILA for a different dancing experience. We sail in Danish waters, towards the islands of Anholt and Bornholm.

We will dance with the winds and the currents, travel with the elements.
We explore and exchange our dance and music practices, onboard the ship and in different nature and harbour settings.
You will also be part of the sailing crew, and learn to navigate an old school sailing ship.

Our dance agenda includes site specific improvisation, choreographic research, contact improvisation, yoga and freestyle.
Aerial dance with ropes an option, along with visual art, making dance films, singing, writing, and playing music.
DANCE SAIL invites dancers, choreographers, musicians and DJ’s to join, people with connected interests are most welcome too.
The ship has space for 20 dance-sailors
(sailing experience not required)

DANCE SAIL will offer public presentations and dialogue in Danish harbours.
DANCE SAIL is a co-created experience, initiated by dancer and musician Pipaluk and Copenhagen Dream House, supported by the crew of Hawila.
The journey begins and ends in Copenhagen.

TRIP DETAILS, 2020 :
Departure : Copenhagen Friday 21th Aug 5pm
Arrival : Copenhagen 30th of August, estimate 5pm
If the winds are with us, we sail towards Anholt and Bornholm, and spend a couple of days on each island.
Destinations and schedule can change according to weather conditions.
